Beginning in issue #2 of Colonia, the pirate brigantine "Lady Jain" is introduced. The Lady is based on a real Lady, "Lady Washington," a reproduction of an American ship that served before and after the revolution. The ship has appeared on many documentaries, where I have captured her image for drawing reference.

 

 

To my complete surprise and delight, the Lady docked at Jack London Square in beautiful downtown Oakland. Let's check it out!
