... to 1920's robber barron mansion, to 1960's commune (the area is even pictured on the
cover of a Grateful Dead album). The hippies accidentally burned up the old mansion, and you can still see
slagheaps of old melted vinyl hippy records inside the boarded up remains.
The hike takes you up Mt. Burdell, where unfortunately, a lot of sudden oak death is occuring.
A friendly gopher snake. He was of course released without harm.
