Calaveras Reservoir coming into view in the south.

  

"Losing the light" in a very serene place. Encountering another hiker out here is rare.

 

  

Another hike, for another day, is to travel north to the Maguire Peaks.

On the back side a nice view opens up of San Antonio Reservoir, south of Livermore.

  

Looking up at the peaks as they face north. Driving south on hwy 680 you can catch glimpses of them near the town of Sunol.
